Consumer Food & Agribusiness Research

We conduct research on consumer choices focusing mainly on food and agribusiness. We work extensively on analysis of determinants of consumer behavior in general and purchase decision making in particular. Our broad research agenda is three-fold. We focus on theoretical advancement, method testing and practical applications. Most of our projects are related to health or sustainability. Current research projects include consumer preferences and willingness to pay for soft drinks labeled with calories and sweeteners, perception of nutrition labeling as well as attitudes towards cheese and computer tablets labeled for biodegradable packaging.

Our Resources

Recently we were able to make major improvements to our lab! We have three separate rooms for our research:

  • a large survey room with the options for focus groups, shelf simulations and computer simulations
  • a kitchen to prepare food for taste tests
  • an eye tracking room
